Day numbers
1 January is day 1, and 31 December is day 365, or 366 in a leap year. Day numbers (sometimes loosely called "Julian dates") are used on food-production batch codes, in manufacturing, in logistics and in some military date formats. 15 October 2026 is day 288.
Leap years fall in years divisible by 4, except century years not divisible by 400. So 2000 was a leap year, 2100 won't be, and 2028 is the next one. The ISO 8601 week number, used in UK business planning, starts on Monday, and week 1 is the week containing the first Thursday of the year. To count days between two dates, use the date calculator.
