How to record your screen
- Press Start recording. Your browser asks what to share: the entire screen, a single window or one tab.
- For sound, tick "Share audio" in the browser's dialog (Chrome and Edge can capture tab or system audio). Tick Include my microphone above to narrate.
- Press Stop here, or the browser's "Stop sharing" bar. The video appears below to preview and download.
Formats and compatibility
Chrome and Edge record WebM or, in recent versions, MP4. Safari records MP4. WebM plays in all major browsers, VLC and YouTube. Recording happens entirely on your computer with the Screen Capture and MediaRecorder APIs, so there is no upload, no watermark and no time limit. Long recordings are held in memory, so save them when you finish.
Screen recording isn't available in most phone browsers; use your phone's built-in recorder instead. Trim the start and end of your video with the video trimmer.

Does it work on iPhone?
Mobile browsers usually do not allow screen capture. Use the phone's built-in screen recorder.
