How to trim a video
- Choose a video file (MP4, WebM or MOV in most browsers).
- Drag the Start and End sliders, or play the video and press "Set start" and "Set end" at the right moments.
- Press Export. The selected part is played back and re-recorded in your browser, with sound, then offered as a download.
How it works, and limits
Most online trimmers upload your video to a server. This one doesn't: it uses the browser's own video decoder and the MediaRecorder API, so your clip never leaves your device and there's no watermark. Because the clip is re-recorded in real time, a 30-second clip takes about 30 seconds to export. The output is WebM (Chrome, Firefox) or MP4 (Safari, newer Chrome), at the original resolution where the browser allows it.
It works best for short clips such as social posts, meeting highlights and screen recordings. For very long or 4K videos, a desktop editor will be faster. Record your screen first with the screen recorder.
Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded?
No. Trimming happens in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
Why does export take as long as the clip?
The clip is re-recorded in real time to keep everything private and avoid a big download.

More questions
Why does my browser ask for permission?
Microphone, camera and screen access always need your explicit permission. The browser shows a prompt, and you can revoke access at any time from the padlock icon in the address bar.
Is anything recorded or uploaded?
No. Audio and video are processed locally in your browser. If the tool lets you save a file, it is created on your device only.
It does not work on my iPhone – why?
Check that Safari (or your browser) has permission under Settings, that no other app is using the mic or camera, and that you are on iOS 14.3 or later. Screen recording in the browser is not supported on iOS.
Should I use headphones?
For tone, noise and binaural tools, yes: start at a low volume. Binaural beats only work with headphones because each ear needs a different tone.
