When to erase by hand
AI background removal is fast, but it sometimes misses a gap between arms or a strap, or keeps a shadow you don't want. This manual eraser gives you full control. Start with the AI background remover, then use this tool to touch up the edges, or erase simple backgrounds entirely by hand.
Tools
- Erase brush: paint to make pixels transparent. Use a large brush for big areas and a small one near edges.
- Restore brush: paints the original image back, so you can fix mistakes.
- Remove colour: click a background colour, for example a white or green-screen backdrop, and all connected pixels within the tolerance are erased (a flood-fill "magic wand"). Raise the tolerance for uneven lighting.
It works with a mouse, touch or a stylus, and Undo keeps the last 20 steps. The download is a full-resolution PNG with transparency. Nothing is uploaded.

More questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is decoded and processed in your browser with the HTML5 Canvas API (and WebAssembly where AI is used). It never leaves your device.
Why is a big photo slow on my phone?
Editing needs the full uncompressed image in memory. A 48-megapixel photo needs about 186 MB as RGBA, so phones may slow down. Resize it first if needed.
Will I lose quality?
PNG output is lossless. JPEG and WebP use lossy compression, so pick a high quality setting (around 85–92%) for photos you plan to print.
Is there a watermark?
No. Downloads are clean and free to use, including commercially for your own images.
