How the countdown timer works
Choose a preset or type your own hours, minutes and seconds. Press Start to count down. The big display shows the time remaining. When it hits zero, an optional alarm beeps (your browser may ask for sound permission after a click).
Pomodoro and focus presets
The 25-minute preset matches the classic Pomodoro focus block. Pair it with a 5-minute break, then another 25. Teachers use 10-minute timers for classroom transitions; cooks use 1 and 5 minutes for pasta checks and resting meat.
Keep the tab open
Browsers throttle timers in background tabs. Leave this page visible, or pin the tab, for the most reliable alarm. For counting up instead, use the online stopwatch.
Privacy
The timer never phones home. Your duration and remaining time stay on your device.
