UK Degree Classification Calculator
A degree calculator I built with Next.js. Enter module marks and credits to see if you are on track for a First, 2:1 or 2:2, and the mark you still need.
A project I built. The summary below is what it does. I can build this kind of page for a business.
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS
- Vitest
- Web app
The UK Degree Classification Calculator turns module marks into a predicted degree class. You add your second-year and final-year modules with their credits, and it works out credit-weighted averages for each year and the overall mark.
Universities combine the years differently, so you can pick the weighting (final year only, 20:80, 25:75, 30:70, 1:2, 40:60, 50:50 or custom) and the rounding rule (none, one decimal place, or whole marks, where 69.5 becomes 70). It warns you when you are within 2 marks of the next class, and tells you the average you need on your remaining final-year credits for a First, 2:1 or 2:2.
Marks are saved in the browser with localStorage, so they are still there next time. Nothing is uploaded and there is no API key. The logic has 26 unit tests covering every boundary, both rounding modes, floating-point edge cases and the "mark needed" algebra.

How this page fits the rest of the site.
UK Degree Classification Calculator is work I built and can extend. The summary above is the scope of this repository. A business version can add accounts, a server, or a design that matches the brand.
Technologies are the ones listed on the card. A live demo button appears only when a page is actually published. GitHub is the source. If the repository and this write-up disagree, trust the repository and send a correction from the contact page.
