How to Protect Yourself from SIM Swap Fraud: Lock Your Number, Set a SIM PIN and Secure Your Accounts (UK and US)

To protect against SIM swap fraud, turn on your mobile network's SIM or number lock, add a strong account password or PIN, set a SIM PIN on your phone, move important accounts from SMS codes to an authenticator app or passkey, and never read out a one-time code to anyone who calls you.
